HPD officers bike to Canada for fundraiser

HOUSTON

The officers rode 2,200 miles to Niagara Falls, Ontario, to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research. They left Houston a week ago, riding 24 hours a day even through bad weather.

"We did get some pretty good winds and a lightning storm, but no tornadoes, thank God," said one of the bikers.

Because of the bad weather, the officers couldn't see the famous Niagara Falls as they rode into town. After trekking across the continent, some of the cycling officers will stay for the next few days and do a more relaxing tour through wine country.
