The Texans are one step closer to getting their defensive coaching staff completed with the hiring of Vance Joseph as the new defensive backs coach. Joseph spent the last six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He'll have his work cut out for him trying to help fix one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. Joseph will have to try to bring out the potential in first-round draft pick Kareem Jackson, who was given the job before he ever hit the field.
Jackson got better towards seasons end, but still hasn't been anything special. He'll have to find a safety who can cover. One option being kicked around is possibly moving Glover Quin to safety. One move that would make his job a lot easier would be signing free agent Nnamdi Asomugha .
