Woman allegedly attacked in store bathroom

NEW CANEY, TX The incident happened around 1:30pm Wednesday at the Food Fair Grocery Store on Highway 59 near FM 1485 in New Caney. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, a woman had gone to the bathroom inside the store and could hear someone in a nearby stall. The suspect forced open the door to the victim's stall and began pushing and grabbing her.

Deputies say the victim fought back while screaming for help. The suspect tried to escape. Several store employees came to the woman's aid, holding the suspect until deputies arrived.

Shane Thomas Lacaze, 40, was taken into custody and charged with attempted sexual assault.
