Comida food drive kicks off

Houston police are kicking off their annual Comida food drive to feed needy Houstonians during the holiday season. The food drive feeds more than 3,500 Houston families annually and just last year raised $48,867 in cash donations to purchase food for needy residents.

The food drive is a collaborative effort among The Houston Police Department, Houston Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association, Fiesta Mart and the Hispanic Ministers Against Crime, and the Pepsi Bottling Group.

Police will pick up the food between 1 and 7pm on Thursday and Friday, and between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday at the 14 Fiesta store locations listed below:
