Judge dismisses suit aimed at stopping prayer before council mtngs

HOUSTON A judge in Dallas has dismissed a lawsuit which claimed the practice of prayer before Houston City Council meetings was a violation of the Constitution. Kay Staley filed the lawsuit, saying the council prayers violated the separation of church and state clause in the First Amendment.

The judge disagreed, dismissing her case with prejudice, which means it cannot be filed again.

By the way, Staley is the same woman who successfully sued to have a Bible removed from a Harris County courthouse display.
