Houston police say officers who were staking out a warehouse where a robbery was expected have fatally shot a man. Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva says undercover officers hid in a field across from the warehouse after police received a tip about a planned robbery.

She says six armed men showed up about 4 a.m. Saturday and discovered one undercover officer while unexpectedly cutting through the field. Silva says all six had their weapons out as they approached the officer.

Silva says the officer fired at one man who pointed his weapon at him, and a second officer fired when the man continued toward the first officer. Silva says it's not clear who fired the fatal shot.

She says the five other men and two women have been arrested in the robbery plot.
