Movie listings in newspapers going away

August 24, 2009 2:42:49 PM PDT
The newspaper may someday no longer be the place to check movie listings. The top two U.S. movie chains, Regal Entertainment and AMC, are reducing or in some cases eliminating the small-type listings showing the start times for movies at individual theaters. The chains are looking to cut costs and are instead directing consumers to their internet sites or third-party sites.

For newspapers, it is another hit to ad revenue as the popularity of the internet continues to grow.
