Decades old BBQ joint torn down

Demolition crews on Tuesday tore down a popular east side restaurant to make way for a new METRO rail line. The crews demolished Lenox barbecue at Harrisburg and Altic. Owner Eric Mrok told us METRO will take up a big chunk of his property to build a new rail line and he would not have enough room to keep his restaurant open.

"It wasn't worth it. To try to salvage everything I could was way too expensive for what little I would've had left, which is basically a cooler and some store rooms," he said.

METRO told us it paid Mrok an undisclosed amount for his property and they are surprised to find out he was not happy about the deal. METRO continues purchasing portions of 137 different pieces of land to build the rail line going down Harrisburg.
