Thieves can't stop young sluggers

Some thieves targeted a Baytown area Little League park, but the pint sized players didn't let that stop them from playing ball. The Mustangs and Tigers of the Baytown West Little League had their own opening day yesterday despite the fact that someone stole their scoreboard controls. Sometime last week, thieves broke into the league's press box and took the controls, the CD player that plays the National Anthem, an amplifier and a microphone.

"The money that we could have used to put towards more scholarships next season, we now need to spend on our new intercom system, new microphone," said Baytown West Little League President Mary Gonzales.

The league is now trying to raise money to replace the stolen equipment. Our station has already received numerous calls from people who want to donate.
