Woman struck and killed by car in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say a woman was struck and killed by a driver as she was walking on Mykawa Monday night.

Police say the area near Mykawa and the South Sam Houston Parkway is not well lit, which made it hard for the driver to see the woman.

The driver did not stop and call the police after striking the woman. Police did not say whether the driver is facing any charges.

The identify of the woman has not been released.
