Chilly start to Monday with more sun to come

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- You'll need your jackets Monday. Clear skies will allow temperatures to drop down into the mid to upper 40s Monday morning.

Temperatures are expected to warm quickly with highs topping out in the low to mid 70s. By the late afternoon, a disturbance is expected to roll over bringing us more clouds and a very slight chance for showers. Most of us will stay dry but some light rain cannot be ruled out.

What can we expect for the upcoming work week?
Cool mornings and warm afternoons are coming up for the work week. As we start the week, we will see partly cloudy skies with even more sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday. Moisture returns Thursday bringing back cloud cover. Another cold front moves in Friday-Saturday bringing back a chance for scattered showers and storms.

When will we have another opportunity for rain?
Most of next week will be dry, but a small rain chance will return Thursday as Gulf moisture rushes in ahead of our next cool front. That front will arrive either Friday or Saturday, and that's when we'll have our next opportunity for showers and thunderstorms.
