North Loop westbound at I-45 closed due to big rig accident

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An overturned 18-wheeler has the 610 North Loop westbound shut down at the North Freeway.

Traffic is being diverted to the North Freeway. Don Nelson says traffic needing to continue westbound on the North Loop will need to take the u-turn at Crosstimbers then get back on the Loop.

Video from Skyeye HD showed the 18-wheeler lost its load over several lanes. A TxDOT official says crews are still cleaning up the load of lost steel, and will need to clean up the diesel spilled from the trucks fuel tanks. The accident will likely be cleared by this afternoon between 3pm-4pm.

There is no word of any injuries.
