One week after 13 Investigates reported on the thousands of Houstonians who need a trash or recycling can, the City of Houston is holding a "Can Blitz" for residents to pick one up themselves.
Some residents said they have no way of removing the trash. Others claimed they had to pay someone to remove it, so they don't get fined by the city.
The City of Houston's newest recycling trucks are now out on the streets, about a month after the city council approved $12.4 million for the Solid Waste Department, following pickup delays.
According to court documents, a company faces a water pollution charge as a result.
