A Houston man says a 20-year-old identity mix-up has hijacked his life, leaving him unable to get a job, or even drive a car, without fear.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office released body cam video nearly a week after deputies allegedly shot a woman, mistaking her for an intruder, after she forgot her keys and broke the glass to get into the Cloverleaf area apartment.
The Harris County deputies were responding to a burglary call when they heard what they thought was another break-in. The situation led them to fire 17 times at a woman who had broken her window after forgetting her keys.
Investigators later determined that the injured woman was a resident who broke into her own window with another woman because they didn't have the apartment key.
"He is allowing his wife, son, and brother-in-law to face murder charges for a case he was very, very much involved in," an investigator said in a case believed to be based on mistaken identity.
