Houston officially takes Super Bowl hand-off from San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTRK) -- OK, Houston. We are officially on the clock to host next year's Super Bowl.

"We look back at San Francisco and say thank you," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Monday. "We aslo with the same type of enthusiasm look forward to Super Bowl LI and the leadership in Houston and say we can't wait."

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Super Bowl LI committee took the Super Bowl handoff from San Francisco this morning.

Eyewitness Sports Director Greg Bailey tweeted a photo of the Super Bowl LI logo. Super Bowl LI will be played February 5, 2017 at NRG Stadium.
