A suspect believed to be connected to the Subway murder is in jail, Chauncy Glover reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A suspect believed to be connected to the Subway restaurant murder is behind bars.

Jeffrey Cordero Archangel, 25, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon for the Feb. 22 robbery at the Subway on San Jacinto. He is also a suspect in the Subway robbery where 18-year-old Javier Flores was killed protecting his mother.

In court on Monday, Archangel mumbled only a few words.

"Are you requesting the court to appoint you a lawyer or are you going to hire your own lawyer?" a court official asked.

"Hire my own," Archangel answered.
