Internet technician allegedly sent himself explicit video from customer's phone, police say
Detectives said evidence suggests there may be additional victims.
IRVINE, Calif. -- A 37-year-old internet installer was arrested after allegedly sending himself a customer's private sexually explicit video during an internet installation.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
According to the Irvine Police Department, on Sept. 9, a woman reported that GFiber, formerly Google Fiber, installed internet service in her apartment in early August.
During the installation, the technician, working as a contractor with ITC Service Group Acquisition, now known as ASL Intergria, and making the installation on behalf of GFiber, asked to use her cellphone to "test the Wi-Fi" signal, the department said.
The woman told investigators that after 10 to 15 minutes, she checked on the installer but could not see what he was doing with the phone.
Later, she discovered that a sexually explicit video she had previously sent to her partner via text message had also been sent from her phone to another device through iMessage, police said. Although the message had been deleted from her phone, she found it on her linked iPad.
Using the phone number associated with the message, the woman determined it belonged to Logan Edward Gray-McCannon, of Hemet -- the GFiber employee who had been in her home, police said.
Police arrested Gray-McCannon at his home on Sept. 11.
Detectives said evidence in the investigation suggests there may be additional victims. Authorities released Gray-McCannon's photo to help the community identify him.

Gray-McCannon was booked into the Orange County Jail on charges of commercial burglary, sharing a private sexual image of a person without consent and unauthorized computer access.
