Justen Glad scored a first-half goal for Real Salt Lake and Maximiliano Urruti answered with a second-half goal for the Houston Dynamo in their 1-1 draw on Saturday in Sandy, Utah.
Salt Lake came away with a draw for the third time in six home matches this season. RSL finished with 21 shots and nine shots on goal, but struggled to finish their scoring chances when it mattered.
Houston struggled on offense for much of the match, generating only seven total shots against one of the top scoring defenses in the Western Conference. Still, the Dynamo avoided their first shutout of the season. They also earned their third consecutive draw in an eight-day span.

This was the first match between the Western Conference foes since 2019.
Salt Lake took a 1-0 lead on Glad's goal in the 11th minute. Albert Rusnak served a corner kick to the top of the 6-yard box. Glad got a foot on the ball and poked it between two defenders to quickly put RSL on the board.
RSL was not able to build on that lead before halftime despite dominating possession. Salt Lake put the Dynamo on their heels for 45 minutes with a relentless attack. The Utah club had a 13-2 advantage in total shots. They put seven balls on frame while not allowing a single shot on goal.
It opened the door for Houston to get a second-half equalizer against the run of play.
Urruti leveled the score with his goal in the 52nd minute. Tyler Pasher laid the ball off to Urruti at the top of the box, and he blasted it down the middle to get the Dynamo on the board.
