HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Dwight Howard's mother, Sheryl Howard, celebrated the Rockets' stunning win last night, telling Eyewitness News' Pooja Lodhia she was "excited" "surprised" and "happy" the team scored the pivotal win.
She said, "I was excited. I was just thankful and surprised and happy that the Rockets pulled it off because, you know that they had so many doubters -- that we couldn't do it, but we proved them wrong -- so I am very excited about that."
Asked what moment struck her last night, Howard said, "To be honest, I was too nervous to watch, but you know, we got the win and that's a great thing, got the victory, we needed that."
The Rockets rallied from 19 points down to stave off elimination with a 119-107 win over the Clippers Thursday night. And they did it late without MVP candidate James Harden. The Rockets now come home for Game 7 Sunday at Toyota Center.
