HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros picked up a shortstop in tonight's MLB draft.

Houston used the second overall pick on Alex Bregman from LSU. Bregman hit .312 with nine home runs and 49 RBIs in 63 games for the Tigers to help them reach the College World Series.

Houston also had the fifth overall pick, which they used on Florida high school outfielder Kyle Tucker. The Plant High School product, who hit .407 with eight home runs and 21 RBIs in his senior season, is the brother of Astros rookie Preston Tucker.
