HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Julie Norwood lives in the Huntwick Forest neighborhood. She says her whole family was awakened by the noise.
"We heard this deep bass sound, it sounded like almost drums from a high school band," Norwood said.
Her neighbor Van English heard it, too.
"And the instruments," English says, "The bass thump like you hear in traffic coming from other cars."
The Precinct 4 Constable's Office received 12 noise complaints, and the Harris County Sheriff's Office received 18 calls about the noise. Off-duty Sheriff's deputies provided security at the event. A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office said the festival was not in violation of the state law.
The promoter for "Something Wicked" sent Eyewitness News the following statement regarding the noise complaints.
"Although Saturday and Sunday sound levels were under legal limits, we worked with city officials and our sound engineers to minimize the impact on our neighbors. Again, we apologize for any disturbance."
