Clumsy thief caught on camera face-planting during heist

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KTRK) -- A thief in Oklahoma City was caught on camera face-planting after robbing a convenience store.

Surveillance video shows just when the store clerk turns his back, a man reaches over the counter and rips out the cash register.

Then as he makes his great escape, he drops the monitor and stumbles out the door, biting it on the cement.

He recovers and runs off, getting away with the cash.

And despite the stolen money, the thief did offer some comedic relief for the store owner.

Owner Usman Rashid said, "I thought it was funny you know, I got a kick out of it but I don't know, there ain't no words for that for that, you know, it's just a bad thing happened."

Rashid hopes the security video will give police what they need to make an arrest.
