Horses take refuge from flood water on home's porch in Simonton area

SIMONTON, TX (KTRK) -- About a dozen horses are stranded as a home has become an island in flood waters near Simonton.

The Brazos River is out of its banks, above 'major flood stage' and still rising. The horses are huddled on the only dry ground to be found in the area - the front porch of the home.
