HOUSTON -- HEB has big plans for its Bellaire store. In a meeting at the Bellaire Civic Center, HEB executives met with residents to inform them that the grocery chain was moving forward with plans to rebuild its current pantry store on Bissonnet and turn it into a 70,000 sq. ft. super market.

The community meeting offered Bellaire residents the chance to see one possible plan for the store as well as designs for a similar proposed market in San Antonio.

"I think it's well overdue. This is a great community with a lot to offer, and it's missing a grocery store that would fill the needs of the residents of this city, said Bellaire resident Wendy Rosenfeld. "Due to the limited space there is not enough inventory, so I find that I have to go to another store to fill in the gaps that they don't have at the current store."
