What are the best ways to get to and from RodeoHouston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Get ready to rodeo! If you are planning to head out to BBQ contest or the show, avoid the stampede with this must-have parking and transportation roundup.

Your best bet? Team up with METRO. You can pick from three rodeo express locations across town and four park and ride locations. Prices are as low as $4 per person, and you don't have to fight for a parking space at NRG. At the OST lot, it costs just $20 per car to park, and you can ride the rail in for free.

"In our case, you're going to find a parking space real close to the rail, get on a nice comfortable train go to reliant station which is right outside of NRG park and then walk in and have a good time with your family," Andy Skabowski, Chief Operating Officer of METRO said.

This year, a brand new footbridge is available on the east side of NRG Park to keep visitors away from golf cart traffic, service vehicles, and trucks.

"So when you do ride the METRO in and you'll be able to use the pedestrian bridges to come across our traffic lanes that's internal at the park," Dan Cheney, the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of HLSR told us.

If you plan to drive to NRG, you can choose from three different public lots - the yellow lot off of Main, the OST lot off of Greenbriar, and the 610 Astroworld lot. Parking is $15 during the show, and $20 during the World's Championship BBQ Contest. If your cowboy boots aren't broken in yet, you can ride the tram from the lots.

"Not much of an inconvenience, park, jump on the tram, and it'll take you right to the stadium," Robert Becker of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo told us.

If you plan to take UBER, the only lot for drop-off and pick-up is the TEAL Lot. UBER and taxi drivers will not be allowed to wait in the lot, so be ready to catch your ride as soon as it arrives.

And utilize the RodeoHouston App - it even lets you know which lots are full.

"We are looking forward to great weather, great food, and just great times," Becker said.
