Reward offered for home invasion suspects who impersonated police

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are asking for the public's help in the search for three or four suspects who impersonated police during a home invasion in August in Harris County.

A reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information leading to the identity and arrest of these suspects.

Police say the suspects, described as three to four Hispanic men who identified themselves as police officers, entered the home just after midnight on August 23 and ordered the victims to get on the ground.

Two suspects wore baseball caps and bandannas to conceal their identities. The other one did not, according to authorities.

The victim's dog attacked the suspect without the bandanna and the suspect shot him once in the head. The homeowner was then shot twice in the stomach by one of the suspects. Both the homeowner and the dog are still recovering from those wounds, according to police.

Police say the suspects attempted to leave in a stolen white Ford E250 van, which would not start. They got out of the van and took off on foot towards Averill Street.

Suspect descriptions:

Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male 19-20 years old and 5'7" to 5'9" tall. He weighed approximately 145-160 pounds. He was armed with a semi-automatic .40 caliber gun.

Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic Mexican American male in his mid 20s and standing approximately 5'7" tall. He weighed around 200 pounds.

Suspect #3 is described as a Hispanic male 19-20 years old. He is approximately 5'7' tall
