Boy parodies 'Blurred Lines,' 'Happy' in Bar Mitzvah invitation video
RIVERSIDE, Ill. -- If Brody Criz's video invite is any indication, his Bar Mitzvah is going to be one for the record books.

The almost 13-year-old enlisted his whole family to put together a hilarious invitation to his rite of passage on May 2, including 10-year-old sister, Simone, and his less-than-pleased older brother, Jared.
"Brody is the kind of kid who is the funniest person I know," his mom, Ali, told ABC. "He is up for anything."
Sporting wacky costumes and dancing like no one's watching, Brody sings about how he's ready to be considered an adult and how his party is going to be epic. His parents join in the fun but are alarmed at the bill, Simone plays along and Jared pouts off to the side.
"We did it completely for satire," his mom explained of the video's intentions, "but it is true to life. My oldest son wanted nothing to do with it."
Even though his whole famliy is involved, Brody is clearly the star. He sings transformations of the lyrics from several pop songs, including Pharrell's "Happy," Lorde's "Royals" and John Legend's "All of Me."
Among other hilarious tweaks, Brody sings the phrase "We'll never be royals" as "I'm about to be spoiled."
He then gives a rousing rendition of Idina Menzel's "Let it Go" without changing any of the lyrics.
"I don't really have any Bar Mitzvah jokes here. I just always wanted to try that," he explains.
The big finale is a doozy. Brody imitates Robin Thicke in "Blurred Lines" as he sings about how wild his big night is going to get. To demonstrate this, the birthday boy dances around in his birthday suit, covered by some blurred lines, of course.
The video was created by XpressVideoPro, a video production company just outside of Chicago. Criz sang praises of the way it turned out.
"It's a representation of who Brody is," she said. "He's just this happy, go-lucky kid with so much confidence."
If you were worried about how young Brody went about filming the "Blurred Lines" segment, you should know that he wasn't actually naked. He was wearing a bathing suit that was blurred out, as revealed in a behind-the-scenes video.

Even so, you gotta admit this kid's got pizzazz.
