Child calls 911 after mom killed in apparent murder-suicide: HCSO

TOMBALL, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a man and woman were found dead inside a home in the Tomball area early Friday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said a 12-year-old girl called 911 and said she found her mother unresponsive. Deputies responded to the home in the 12500 block of Baldwin Springs just after midnight.

The woman, identified as Rosiris Gonzalez, was reportedly found with a gunshot wound to her abdomen and pronounced dead. Deputies said that as they investigated, Spencer Taylor was found in another room with a gunshot wound to the head.

The child was found unharmed. Officials said deputies talked with the child and learned that there was a history of violence between her mother and the man.

According to HCSO, the 12-year-old was released to a family friend after her older sister was contacted and said their family was in Venezuela and couldn't pick her up immediately.

HCSO said there was no one else home besides the child, the man, and the woman, and there was no sign of forced entry.

Court records show that Taylor was charged with interfering with the duties of a public servant in 2023.

Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office posted to Facebook that Taylor "refused to allow officers on scene to interview a victim."

ABC13 does not know the details surrounding the call, but the constable's office posted that it happened at the same address as the murder-suicide.
