Woman dead after man accidentally shot her while cleaning handgun in east Harris County, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman is dead after a man unintentionally shot her while cleaning his gun in east Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

HCSO said that deputies responded to the 600 block of Harding Street at around 5:29 p.m. on Saturday.

Authorities said that the 24-year-old woman was sitting on a nearby chair when she was struck by the bullet.

Deputies said that the 25-year-old man suffered a wound to his finger, and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation is still ongoing.
