

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A man suspected of murder has been indicted on charges stemming from the disappearance of a woman, who has not been seen since April 2024, according to recent court documents.
A Harris County jury indicted 41-year-old Quan Flowers on aggravated kidnapping charges in the missing case of 29-year-old Kalie Goodwin from Baytown. Officials said this latest development is to support possible murder charges as they continue gathering evidence in the two-year-old case.
In previous reporting, Goodwin was first reported missing to the Baytown Police Department after her mother said she received a phone call from an unknown caller demanding that money be sent via Cash App.
Goodwin was last seen leaving an apartment complex on April 21, 2024, at around 7 p.m. in the 3100 block of Decker Drive, getting into a car with an unknown man. According to police, that car was registered to a person who said Flowers was their boyfriend. The person was also identified as the owner of the Cash App account.
Officials also said that during the investigation, the car was found in the area where Kalie was last seen.
On June 1, 2024, the Houston Police Department arrested Flowers on suspicion of the possible murder of 24-year-old Megan Rouse, unrelated to Kalie's case.
It was during that investigation that detectives uncovered evidence that they suspect shows Goodwin had been assaulted and removed from the home where Flowers was arrested.
According to investigators, Flowers was charged with beating and murdering Rouse, who was found shot to death on the side of the road weeks after Goodwin's disappearance.

Investigators said that Kalie is still missing but believe she is deceased. Detectives have not released any information on any potential links to the case or how Flowers may have known Rouse.
