Weekend Houston area road closures include I-45, I-610 and Beltway 8

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Drivers across the Houston area should plan for delays this weekend as multiple lane closures and exit ramp shutdowns are scheduled on several major freeways, including I-45, I-610 and Beltway 8.

IH-45 Gulf

• Three outside southbound lanes from Griggs Road to IH-610 South Loop will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, July 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 3.

• One outside southbound lane from Brazos Street to West Dallas Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday, August 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 3.

I-45 Gulf Downtown

• The southbound exit ramp to Pierce Street will fully close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 until Monday, August 3. Drivers should exit 47c to McKinney Street.

IH-45 North

• The northbound connector ramp to IH-10 East/Milam will fully close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Saturday, August 1 to Friday, August 14. Drivers should keep on the IH-45 northbound exit until North Main, where they should U-turn to access IH-10 Eastbound.

IH-610 West Loop

• The southbound connector ramp to IH-69 Southwest southbound will totally close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Saturday, August 1 to Wednesday, August 12. Drivers should exit at Hidalgo and Richmond Ave to access IH-69.

IH-610 South Loop

• Three outside westbound lanes from Kirby Drive to Buffalo Speedway will close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 to Friday, August 7.

• Three outside westbound lanes from Stella Link Road to Buffalo Speedway will close nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 to Friday, August 7.

• The eastbound frontage road from FM-865 Cullen Boulevard to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will fully close from 9 p.m. Friday, July 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 3. Drivers should turn right onto Cullen Boulevard, continue straight, turn left onto Bellfort Ave, continue straight, turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, continue straight, and turn right onto the IH-610 eastbound frontage road.

Beltway-8 East

The southbound exit ramp to SH-225 will fully close from 4 a.m. Saturday, August 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 2. Drivers should exit Red Bluff/Pasadena, U-turn at Ramsey/San Augustine, and proceed on the service road northbound on SH-225.
