HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A wanted Houston mail theft suspect is in custody and was charged on Friday, according to court records.

In the fall of 2024, the United States Postal Inspection Service put out a notice offering a reward for information on Justin P. Hearne, who the agency said stole mail from multiple locations across Houston in June 2024.

According to court documents obtained by ABC13, Hearne is now in custody and was charged on Friday with felony mail theft.

The documents alleged that Hearne used a master mail key to access about 51 mailboxes at a corporate building on the North Loop in June 2024.

Court documents also show that Hearne was charged with evading arrest, which is another felony, after he allegedly fled in a vehicle from Harris County Precinct 3 authorities on Thursday.
