Suspect tased after fleeing into bayou, police say

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A police officer chased a suspect into a bayou overnight.

The officer spotted two men while patrolling an apartment building on Fondren that police say is known for drug activity.

Both men ran from the officer. One was caught quickly. The other ran into a nearby bayou.

The officer fought with him then used a Taser to subdue him. He was arrested.

Police did find marijuana on him. The suspect will be charged with possession and evading arrest.
