San Jacinto Co. deputy indicted, charged with stalking, officials say

SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A San Jacinto County Sheriff's Lieutenant has been indicted for stalking, according to authorities.

Investigators said Nathan Deweese made repeated unwanted phone calls to a Trinity County resident between August and November 2025.

Trinity County officials said Deweese was allowed to turn himself in to authorities in San Jacinto County.

The San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office said Deweese has been terminated following the indictment.

Court documents allege the suspect made repeated phone calls to a woman, in which he was silent or breathing and making sexually suggestive comments.

Investigators said the suspect refused to identify himself and claimed to know all about the woman he kept calling.

Court records did not indicate if or how Deweese knew the woman, or why he allegedly kept calling her.
