MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect is in custody after a chase ended in the Willis area on Friday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
Just before 10 a.m., officials said HPD was called near the Galleria area regarding a possible assault. When officers arrived, they said they tried to stop a driver in a red pickup truck, but the suspect did not comply, prompting the chase.
HPD said the chase lasted at least 60 miles, all the way to I-45, and ended on West Rogers Road in Willis.
Officials said HPD used a pit maneuver and rammed into the truck, causing it to spin out and come to a complete stop. The driver was arrested shortly thereafter.
SkyEye13 flew over the area after the chase ended, where multiple officers were seen surrounding the pickup.
An ABC13 crew was on the ground after the chase and learned that nearby drivers were stuck on the road for nearly an hour as law enforcement worked to clear the scene.
No injuries were reported by officials.
