'The Mirror Crack'd' brings intrigue, suspense to the Alley Theatre

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A classic whodunit is captivating Houston audiences this summer as The Mirror Crack'd takes center stage at the Alley Theatre. It's based on the mystery novel by Agatha Christie. The play features longtime Houston actress Susan Koozin as the amateur sleuth, Miss Jane Marple.

Set in a quiet English village, the production transports theatergoers far from the streets of downtown Houston and into a world of secrets, suspicion, and sudden tragedy. The story centers on a shocking murder at a glamorous party, where nothing is quite as it seems.

Koozin joined Eyewitness News live on Wednesday morning and said this latest mystery offers audiences a fresh puzzle to solve alongside the iconic character. The flashbacks in this production are key, she explained, because they allow the audience to catch the subtle clues that Miss Marple never misses. Without revealing too much, Koozin also noted that Christie's writing often blurs the lines between villain and victim. She wants the audience to understand the humanity of everyone involved.

The Mirror Crack'd runs at the Alley Theatre through Aug. 24. Tickets are still available.
