HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two people are injured after an argument about fireworks escalated into a shooting, the Houston Police Department said.
Investigators said neighbors were setting off fireworks at around 1 a.m. Sunday on Winton Street near Highway 288 on the south side of Houston, when they were confronted by people from a few houses down.
Police said some type of argument took place before both parties pulled out guns and shot each other.
A woman was shot in her lower leg, and a man was shot in his foot, authorities said. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
Houston police said the shooters from both parties fled the scene, and as of now, no one is in custody.
