Man shot multiple times in N. Harris Co., 1 suspect in custody, authorities say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Harris County constable deputies are investigating a shooting on Wednesday afternoon in north Harris County.

Harris Co. Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman reported a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds on the 4400 block of Donalbain Drive. The 27-year-old victim was then taken by his grandmother to a nearby fire station for medical assistance, authorities stated. The victim is in surgery but expected to live, officials told ABC13.

Initially, authorities said they were searching for a suspect who they described as a skinny, Black man in a Dallas Cowboys hoodie and white and black pajama pants. But later, Pct. 4 said the 17-year-old suspect was found at Lakeway and Topway Street, where he was taken into custody. The gun used in the shooting is still missing, according to officials.

Officers told ABC13 that this appeared to be a domestic issue that escalated, with everyone involved living in the same home.

Due to the initial search, Spring ISD told ABC13 that a nearby school was placed in "secure mode" due to "police activity in the neighborhood, which was not a threat to Jenkins (Elementary School)."
