Man accused of murdering his father in Conroe and stealing his credit cards, MCSO says

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) -- A son was charged with murder in connection with the murder of his father inside a home in the Conroe area, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

On Friday, deputies say that Justin Blount, 38, was charged in the shooting death of James "Mr. Jim" Blount.

Deputies say that the incident happened at the 19200 block of Trails End Road just after 8 a.m. on Monday.

Justin Blount was initially arrested on the day of the incident on Monday after investigators discovered that he had used his father's credit cards without authorization, MCSO said. In addition, Justin Blount initially contacted 911, reporting that he had found his father dead, deputies said.
