Investigators looking into shooting death of 81-year-old man inside home in Conroe, MCSO says

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials are investigating the death of an 81-year-old man who was found in a home in the Conroe area on Monday.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the 19200 block of Trails End Road just after 8:00 a.m.

The deputies made entry into the home and found the man, identified as James Blount, suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.

It is unclear whether the man lived alone or whether there were any signs or descriptions of a suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
