HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If there's a job to be done at the Houston Humane Society, chances are volunteer David Perez has done it.
Whether he's walking dogs in the early morning, stepping into the mascot costume, helping families through the pet pantry, or assisting during hurricane relief efforts, David has become a familiar and dependable presence for both staff and animals.
Angelina Saucedo is the Volunteer Director at the Houston Humane Society.
"We are so grateful to have him," Saucedo shared. "He follows the animal's journey from the beginning to adoption, which is a beautiful thing."
Over the years, David Perez has helped more than 100 dogs find loving homes. In the video above, meet the man making a lasting difference and get a look at what it takes to be a dedicated volunteer.
