Officers responding to a call found a woman dead in a car with gunshot wounds.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 38-year-old man from Magnolia faces a murder charge after his ex-girlfriend was shot in her car at a League City apartment complex, according to police.
The victim, who relatives identify as 37-year-old Joanna Walton, was found with multiple gunshot wounds behind the wheel of a silver Toyota Corolla at the Harbor Walk Apartments on FM 518 around 2:25 p.m. on Monday.
Surveillance footage shows Walton's silver car driving through the parking lot just after 2 p.m. Almost immediately, a red SUV that witnesses say was being driven by the suspect, emerges from a nearby carport and drives toward where Walton had parked.
About two minutes later, you can hear several faint pops that witnesses say were gunshots. The red SUV is seen reversing but remains on scene for about 30 seconds longer before driving away.
During that time, witnesses said the shooter peered through an open back window of Walton's car before returning to the SUV.
A witness told police he saw a man walk up to the victim's car and shoot the victim 11 times.
League City police said Isaiah Johnson turned himself in at the Galveston Police Department about two hours later.
According to court documents, Johnson and Walton share a son together.
Walton's family told Eyewitness News Johnson had been harassing her for years following their breakup.
In 2023, police said Johnson tried to shoot Walton. When the gun jammed, police say he pistol-whipped her instead.
Records show Johnson pleaded guilty and was given 30 days in jail and 10 years' probation. He was also required to complete a battering intervention program.
While still on probation last July, police say Johnson broke into Walton's apartment.
According to an affidavit, he texted her that he didn't want their son to see her again and that "I don't care if I throw away my life to make that happen."
He's also accused of texting Walton, "Your face was so beautiful with all that blood coming down and you crying."
Records show police issued a warrant for Johnson's arrest on the burglary charge in August 2025. It wasn't served until he turned himself in on the murder charge on Monday.
During a court appearance Tuesday, his bond was set at $360,000.
