ROSENBERG, Texas (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway involving Lamar CISD's police department. The district confirmed two officers have been placed on administrative leave, but details remain limited.
District officials said they are aware of allegations involving members of their police department, but they're not giving an explanation as to why that is.
The district sent ABC13 a statement saying the two officers are on administrative leave pending an investigation by an independent third party.
Lamar CISD claimed that because this involves personnel, they are unable to comment further at this time.
Meanwhile, a special board of trustees meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. According to the agenda, there's an item related to the appointment, discipline, reassignment, or dismissal of a public officer or employee, as well as hearing complaints or charges.
ABC13 asked the district whether that agenda item is connected to the officers being placed on leave. The district responded that personnel-related agenda items are routine and can apply to a variety of employment issues.
They added that they do not comment on personnel matters beyond what is included in the posted board materials.
ABC13 also reached out to the Rosenberg Police Department to see if it was involved in this investigation at all. The agency said it was not.
