FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A final farewell is being held on Friday for a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputy who was killed in a hit-and-run last month.
The sheriff's office said the funeral procession for Deputy Kenneth Lewis began at 8 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy. It traveled north on State Highway 99 to I-10. From there, the procession headed east to the Second Baptist Church.
Investigators said they still haven't found the driver responsible for hitting Lewis on Feb. 21 as the deputy was helping a stranded driver on the Katy Freeway. Deputies said Lewis died two days later.
FBCSO said the driver who took off was in a black or dark-colored Honda sedan.
