Man and woman found stabbed to death in east Harris County, sheriff says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say that two people are dead in a stabbing during the lunch hour on Tuesday in east Harris County, and investigators say they believe the suspect knew the two victims.

The stabbing occurred in the 700 block of Manor, in a rental home. Investigators say that after the man and woman were stabbed, the man ran out into the street asking for help.

"Somebody said, help help help!'" neighbor Ramon Diaz, a neighbor. "But, I didn't see nothing."

Diaz's home is a few hundred yards away, where investigators say a man, who had just been stabbed, was asking for help.

"About 12:30 p.m. today, deputies were dispatched here to what is a male disturbance call, a male had shown up at a neighbor's house," Captain Sidney Miller of the Harris County Sheriff's Department said. "He was bleeding and covered in blood, told his neighbor he had been stabbed."

A school resource officer was the first to make it onto Manor Street, but by then, it was too late. The man and the woman were both dead, as a neighborhood began figuring out what happened.

"After that, the cops came and I tried to figure out what's going on but," Eleanor Ledesma, another neighbor, said. "But nobody wanted to say anything."

Investigators say the man and the woman had just moved into the home about two months ago, and there was no record of previous calls for help. While they do not know the motive yet, they say they feel confident that the attacker and the victims knew each other.

"From the preliminary findings, we suspect this is something internal, not something for the neighborhood people to be concerned about," Miller said.

In fact, investigators say they have a pretty good idea of who the suspect is, and did not feel the need to immediately release a description of him at this point. They are reviewing surveillance videos from neighbors to gather more information.
