Couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide reported by teen daughter in W. Harris Co., HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Investigators are looking at a possible murder-suicide in west Harris County overnight after a teenager reported that her parents were arguing.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies responded to a home in the 3300 block of Piney Forest Drive just before 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Once deputies arrived, they made their way into the home and found a husband and wife dead. Preliminary information said that the 48-year-old woman had been shot by her 47-year-old husband, officials said.

Deputies also found the couple's 16-year-old, who told them that her parents had been fighting earlier in the evening, HCSO says.

Officials did not say what the couple had been arguing about; however, it is believed the fight started over a possible looming divorce.

Officials did not report whether the teen was injured.
