HPD investigating 'suspicious death' in Fifth Ward-area apartment

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is investigating what it called a suspicious death in the Fifth Ward area on Monday.

HPD said a woman was found unresponsive inside an apartment on Lorraine Street at about 6:25 p.m. and pronounced dead.

In a release on Tuesday, police said it was investigating the incident.

No other details about the victim have been released, and police said an autopsy is being done to determine her cause of death.
