Harris County investigators looking into headstones found in Brays Bayou

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Flood Control District is now investigating a surprising discovery in Brays Bayou.

That discovery was headstones, dumped in and along the bayou.

If you look closely, you'll see that multiple headstones look like they have errors on them, so it could be a case of discarding materials. But, of course, investigators say dumping them in the bayou is still illegal.

ABC13 did some digging and found that there was previously a company that made headstones nearby, but Eyewitness News doesn't know how long the headstones have been here.

Harris County crews are expected to come out in the coming days to talk to witnesses and nearby business owners.
