DPS: Preliminary review shows violations in traffic stop of Sandra Bland

PRAIRIE VIEW, TX (KTRK) -- There were law enforcement violations during the traffic stop of a woman in Waller County. That's according to a preliminary review by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to the DPS, a review of the traffic stop that occurred in Prairie View on July 10 involving Sandra Bland revealed violations of the department's procedures regarding traffic stops and the department's courtesy policy.

During the investigation, the deputy involved has been assigned administrative duties.
