Disney's 'Descendants: Wicked Wonderland' trailer debuts a new villain Maddox Hatter

"Surprise! When you changed the past, you created chaos." Disney has released the official trailer for the highly-anticipated "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" movie.

In the trailer, things seem perfect for Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) with the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) becoming nice and Cinderella (Brandy) being safe. Little do they know, changing the past altered their seemingly perfect lives and created a new villain: Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam).

"I'm going to take Wonderland," Maddox confidently declares in the trailer. In order to save the Queen of Hearts who's been captured, Red and Chloe form a team with Red's new sister Pink (Liamani Segura), Luisa Madrigal's son Luis (Alexandro Byrd) and Maddox's son Max (Brendon Tremblay) to save her.

Will the group survive all of Maddox Hatter's tricks in time to save Wonderland?

Watch and find out when "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" premieres July 16 on Disney Channel, and streams the next day on Disney+.

Meanwhile, the latest single from the movie's soundtrack was also released, "Mad-Wicked Wonderland," continuing Disney's tradition of unforgettable villain anthems. The "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" Original Soundtrack will be available on July 17 through Walt Disney Records.

Plus, new products inspired by "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" including a doll line from Mattel, costumes, apparel and books will be available soon.

"Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" is directed by Kimmy Gatewood with the script by co-executive producer Tamara Chestna and Dan Frey & Ru Sommer. Executive producers Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh return to the franchise. Gatewood also serves as co-executive producer. Emmy Award-winning choreographer Emilio Dosal also brings brand-new music-and-dance sequences to life.
